The new complex will house each of the investigative branches: Special Victims, Narcotics, Gaming, Criminal Intelligence, Auto Theft, and Insurance Fraud. This will be the central location for all investigations and will serve as the new command site for emergencies such as hurricanes.
Col. Mike Edmonson, the LSP Superintendent, explains that the central contact location for all points of law enforcement within the state.
"It is important for us to have a single location that we can make a difference," Edmonson said.
The superintendent said he believes this central location will give the public the peace of mind they need and that "it is important that the public trust us."
Because of the improvement in accessibility, Edmonson said that the public "will listen to us and they will work with us."
