Louisiana Sheriffs' Scholarship Program Underway

The Louisiana Sheriffs' Scholarship Program will award scholarships to to eligible students in
St. Martin Parish. Students continuing their education and training with resources made available through the Louisiana Sheriffs' Honorary Membership Program are eligible.

One scholarship worth $500 will be awarded to a graduating high school student from St. Martin Parish. There are no limitations on purpose of how the money is spent nor is it a loan. The only limitations are that applicants must be permanent residents of Louisiana; that scholarships be utilized in higher education within the State of Louisiana, and that students be enrolled as full time, undergraduate students. Applicants must be eligible for admission to the school they indicate on their application. The award will only be paid for attendance at institutions of higher learning within the State of Louisiana. All scholarship winners will be announced by May 1st.

Completed applications must be submitted to Major Ginny Higgins at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office no later than April 1, 2013. The mailing address is P.O.
