NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Hoping to bolster confidence nationwide in
the safety of Louisiana seafood, some industry representatives have
headed for Washington.
Harlon Pearce, a seafood processor and the chairman of the
state's seafood promotion board, led a delegation to the nation's
capital on Sunday. Pearce says that on Monday, the seafood
representatives have an appearance planned with President Barack
Obama and members of the New Orleans Saints.
Pearce said he also was making plans to create a 30-foot-long
po' boy for officials in Washington. The extra-long sandwich will
contain what Pearce is calling a "bipartisan" mixture: shrimp and
oysters.
