The Jeanerette Bicentennial Park and Museum will host a history talk, Louisiana Scandals, led by UL Professor Michael Martin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9 at the museum located at 500 E. Main St., Jeanerette.
Even after Huey Long's death, his political machine and cronies kept up the political tide high in Louisiana. It all came to a halt in 1939, however, when investigations into misuse of state funds uncovered nearly $100 million missing. How did it all happen, and what were the consequences? Find out by attending this free talk suitable for teenagers and adults at the Jeanerette Museum.
