Louisiana man booked on 7th offense DWI charge

A Clinton resident has been arrested on a 7th offense DWI charge. 30-year-old James Earl Haynes Jr. was booked into the East Feliciana Parish jail on March 17, 2014. State Police say the trooper who made this most recent arrest has arrested Haynes three times since 2011.

According to State Police, the first time this trooper arrested Haynes was on June 8, 2011, just after 3:00 p.m. Haynes was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe on LA Hwy 67 north of LA Hwy 10 in E. Feliciana Parish. Haynes was allegedly driving with a suspended license, and he was arrested on a 5th offense DWI.

The second time this trooper arrested Haynes was around 1:30 am on March 8, 2014. Haynes was allegedly speeding on LA Hwy 67 south of Clinton in a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe; he was booked on a 6th offense DWI, as well as other traffic violations.

At approximately 10:00 pm on March 17, 2014, the same trooper who arrested Haynes on two previous occasions was contacted by the Clinton Police Department. Officers from Clinton Police say they told the trooper they stopped Haynes in the same 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe for speeding on LA Hwy 67 north of LA Hwy 10. When the Trooper arrived to the scene, Haynes was arrested on a DWI (7th offense), Unlawful refusal to submit to chemical tests, and Operating a vehicle while under suspension for certain prior offenses.
