When it comes to the Fourth of July, there's one thing that almost everyone looks forward to.
Emily Girard and Blaire Carriere both said, "Having fun with your family and popping fireworks."
Bev Wilkinson knows how popular fireworks can be. She's worked at Louisiana Fireworks in Lafayette for well over a decade. Just like crawfish, fireworks sales are seasonal.
"We basically have a day or two to get everything stocked up before we open. And then we have a new semi that came yesterday with new products", says Wilkinson.
Among the old favorites is one firework that hopes to light up not just the sky, but the faces of those men and women serving in the armed forces. Louisiana Fireworks has teamed up with the Folds of Honor Foundation to support the families of fallen soldiers. $10 from every sale of this special firework will go towards the foundation.
"This goes to benefit the people that fight and give their lives and all they've got to keep our freedoms and to keep the American idea going. They protect America, and this is going to help them", says employee Colt James.
The Louisiana Fireworks tents, set up throughout the area, will also be turning over some of their profits. 20% of all sales from the tents will go towards two families in need. No matter where you buy your fireworks, Manager Denova Brown says you'll be celebrating what America is all about.
Brown says, "Whether you buy it from the warehouse, or you buy from the Louisiana Wholesale Fireworks tents, it will be going to a good cause."
