Louisiana App Receives National Recognition

Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler and his staff were acknowledged as one of four finalists for the 2013 NASS IDEAS Award this weekend at the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) annual winter meeting in Washington, D.C.

Louisiana's GeauxVote Mobile app allows voters to verify their registration status, look at a sample ballot and receive turn-by-turn directions to their polling location. The GeauxVote application launched in September of 2011 and increased quickly with over 22,900 iPhone downloads and 6,900 Android downloads throughtout the state.

Finalists for the NASS IDEAS Award are chosen after a review and ranking vote, while its results and effects are also examined. A winner will be chosen at this year's annual NASS summer conference on July 18-21 in Anchorage, Alaska.
