Los Angeles fugitive nabbed in Abbeville

ABBEVILLE, La. (AP) - A man wanted in California on a home
invasion charge has been arrested in Louisiana.
On Sunday, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force from Lafayette
and Lake Charles, arrested 38-year-old Kent Jamel Wright during a
traffic stop in Abbeville.
Wright was wanted on charges filed by the Los Angeles Police
Department in July 2007. Deputy U.S. Marshal Corey Britt says
Wright is being held at the Iberia Parish jail, awaiting
extradition to California to face the pending charges.
Last week, Britt says the task force received information that
Wright was in the Abbeville area. On Sunday, surveillance teams
were set up in the area where Wright was believed to be. He was
then identified driving a Jeep Cherokee and shortly thereafter
stopped and arrested without incident.
