A 7-foot alligator was wrestled and removed from City Park Monday morning.
Tony Migues, director of the city's parks and recreation department, said the gator was first sighted Friday in Devil's Pond, but by Monday morning, it had positioned itself on the side of the Cyr-Gates Community Building, facing the Bayou Teche.
"It was sighted on Saturday and Sunday in Devil's Pond, so it must have relocated during the night," Migues said.
