Local educators finalists for top Caldwell job

COLUMBIA, La. (AP) - Neville High School principal Brent Vidrineand former Board of Elementary and Secondary Education member Tammie McDaniel are among the finalists for the Caldwell Parish superintendent's job.
School Board president Baron Glass told The News-Star the board made its initial cuts in a Monday morning meeting.
The remaining six of eight finalists are Caldwell Junior High principal Blaine Dauzat, Riverside Alternative High School principal Roy L. Higgins, Morehouse Parish Secondary Supervisor David Nordman, Advance Charter School CEO Henry B. Shepard Jr., J.I. Barron Senior Elementary Principal Karla Tollett, and Caldwell Parish Federal Programs Supervisor Mary Wiley.
Glass said he is pleased with the applicant pool.
Current superintendent John Sartin will retire on June 30.
