This Saturday's Farmer's and Artisan's Market at the Horse Farm will feature musicians Gina Forsyth and Jan Boney, not to mention a live blacksmith demonstration.
Sam Riehl, Louisiana's youngest professionally operating blacksmith, will return to the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm on Saturday, August 16th to offer live demonstrations of what some would consider a dying trade.
The Cajun Jam will last from 9 to 11 a.m.
Riehl, a Lafayette native and incoming freshman at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, first began metalworking at the young age of eight. He continues to craft exquisite jewelry, tools, and furniture through the nostalgic trade of blacksmithing. The Market welcomes Riehl along with number of other talented Louisiana artists to the Horse Farm this weekend for the third-Saturday Monthly Art Market and LafayetteTravel Food Pavilion. The Market will remain open and extra hour for all to enjoy a picnic lunch at the park and an additional hour of shopping until 1 p.m.
