LMOGA: House Energy Legislation Will Boost American Energy Security

BATON ROUGE, LA - Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA) commends the House passage of ‘The Domestic Energy and Jobs Act', a comprehensive energy legislation package that encourages the development of domestic oil and gas resources on federal lands.

"Increasing domestic production through expanded access to federal lands will drive economic growth, promote job creation, and provide a boost to America's energy security," said LMOGA President Chris John. "The combination of bills promotes a much needed, commonsense "all-of-the-above" energy policy that facilitates increased production by opening up new areas for drilling, streamlining the federal permitting process and easing unnecessary regulatory burdens."

"On the heels of this week's record-setting lease sale, this legislation is another step forward towards getting back to work in the Gulf of Mexico," said John. "The Gulf represents nearly one-third of the nation's domestic oil and gas production and development of its' resources is critical to our nation's energy security."

"We applaud the House for their support in advancing this important legislation and hope the Senate sees the enormous opportunity this comprehensive energy policy holds for the future of America's energy security."
