The LHSAA has been ordered by the 19th Judicial District Court to allow Livonia High School to participate in the LHSAA 3A baseball playoffs.
The order does not affect any other aspect of the LHSAA's eligibility ruling involving the student at Livonia High School.
Livonia High School will now play Kaplan High School on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Kaplan High School. The winner of the game will advance to play Evangel High School in the first round of the 3A baseball playoffs in Shreveport on Monday, May 5, 2014. The winner of the Evangel/Kaplan/Livonia game must play the winner of the Berwick/St. Louis game no later than Thursday, May 8, 2014.
Last week, the LHSAA ruled a freshman student ineligible to play based on their transfer rules. Livonia was ordered to forfeit 18 baseball games and seven football games that the freshman played in. Parents of the players filed a lawsuit to get the team back into the playoffs, which they were successful in doing.
