October 22, 2010 - LAFAYETTE, La. - Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Henry Florsheim, has accepted the position of President/CEO for the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, where he will lead the chamber and direct economic development for Union County, Ark.
"Leaving Lafayette is bittersweet, and I'll always cherish my time here," Florsheim said. "However, the opportunity to manage a chamber of commerce and conduct traditional economic development activities was too good to pass up. El Dorado is a very progressive town with good schools, strong industry leaders, an active arts community and an amazing historic district. In addition, my wife and I will be much closer to both of our families, including my 11-year-old daughter who lives in Monroe. It's the right move for our family," Florsheim concluded.
President and CEO of Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA), Gregg Gothreaux, said, "having worked alongside Henry for 10-years, I know he'll be successful. As a friend, I'm happy for him. As president [and] CEO of LEDA, I know that Lafayette is losing a leader."
"I appreciate Henry's service to LITE, and am sad to see him go," said LITE Commission Chair Bobby Veazey. "Henry was an asset to LITE and he will be missed."
