Lightning catches Erath hardware store on fire

Asst Chief Larry Toups with the Erath Volunteer Fire Department reports that lightning struck an electrical box at LeBlanc and Theriot Hardware Store, 107 N. Patrick O'Toole Street, catching a wall on fire. The fire was put out from a water line that melted.
Electricity in the building was shut off and the store will be closed for the rest of the day. There were no injuries and the fire is being reported as minor.
