SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A Shreveport man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2008 shooting death of a 17-month-old boy.
Twenty-two-year-old Anthony Paul Johnson was found guilty June 27 by a Caddo Parish jury of second-degree murder in the death of LeGary Adams.
KTBS television reports that state District Court Judge Mike Pitman in Caddo Parish handed down the life sentence for Johnson on Thursday. Pitman also denied a defense motion for a new trial.
Johnson was convicted of firing several shots into a home, fatally wounding the child.
