Two Acadiana hospitals have been recognized by a trade magazine as two of the most wired hospitals in the nation. Lafayette General Medical Center and the Opelousas General Health System were honored in the July issue of HOSPITALS & HEALTH NETWORKS. Lafayette General was listed in the Most Wired Survey, while Opelousas General was recognized in the Most Wired Small and Rural category. The hospitals were honored for their adoption and use of health information technology to improve performance in a number of areas, including patient data protection and communications. They are the only two Louisiana institutions recognized in the report.
