The Lafayette Education Foundation's mission is to promote and support excellence in education in Lafayette Parish schools. Each spring, LEF reviews grant applications submitted by Lafayette Parish School System educators for the upcoming school year. This year, LEF received a large
amount of applications from dedicated educators for creative and innovative projects, resulting in a difficult selection process. Grant Panels made their final decisions in April, awarding 30 grants to 16 schools totaling over $60,500. LEF is pleased to announce schools receiving grants for the 2013-2014 school year.
Schools receiving Classroom Grant awards up to $1,000 include: Broadmoor Elementary, Broussard Middle (two grants), Charles Burke Elementary (three grants), Katherine Drexel Elementary, Ernest Gallet Elementary (four grants), J. Wallace James Elementary (two grants), Ossun Elementary, Plantation Elementary, and Woodvale Elementary (four grants).
Schools receiving a School Impact Grant award up to $5,000 include: L.J. Alleman Middle, Broussard Middle, Judice Middle, L.Leo Judice Elementary, Lafayette High, S.J. Montgomery Elementary, N.P. Moss Preparatory Academy - Connections Program, Plantation Elementary, David Thibodeaux STEM Academy, and Woodvale Elementary.
