Excitement will fill the air tonight as Lafayette's best teachers will be honored at The Annual Lafayette Education Foundation Awards Ceremony.
All 16-finalists will be given superstar treatment tonight beginning with a walk down the red carpet.
Every year, students, parents, administrators and fellow teachers honor those who make a difference in the classroom.
Out of hundreds of teachers nominated, a total of 16 finalists were chosen for four categories: elementary, middle and high school as well as inspirational.
They teach in all subjects and grades, but they all do it for the same reason.
Through the annual teacher awards process, LEF has recognized over 3,700 teachers for their outstanding work and for Lafayette's finest educators who mold and shape the lives of children in the parish, tonight will be well deserved recognition.
The event is tonight at the Heymann Center and our very own Marcelle Fontenot and Scott Brazda will be hosting the ceremony.
There is still time to purchase tickets, call the Heymann Center at 337-291-5555. The event kicks of at 7:30p.m. To hear who takes home the gold stars tonight, tune into KATC at 10p.m.
