Louisiana residents will soon be able to assist in the state's efforts to restore the whooping crane population. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will begin selling prints of two paintings donated to the state by Robert Bateman and Louisiana native Chris Davis. Davis's painting shows two cranes flying over Louisiana, while Bateman's depicts a pair of cranes. The conservation project, which is based at the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area in Vermilion Parish, is now in its third year.
