Lafayette Consolidated Government has agreed to settle part of its lawsuit with Waste Facilities of Lafayette and Progressive Waste Solutions of Louisiana. LCG Chief Administrative Officer Dee Stanley says lawyers from both sides are still crafting the settlement document. Stanley says until those documents are completed and signed, LCG cannot disclose the terms of the settlement or what part of the lawsuit was settled. The lawsuit was filed after the City-Parish Council voted to stop construction of a waste transfer facility on Sunbeam Lane even though the proper permits had been granted.
