Resolutions to honor two long-term Lafayette Consolidated Government employees top Tuesday night's LCG council agenda.
LCG Council Clerk Norma Dugas will retire on April 26 after 38 years of government service. Dugas was the assistant clerk to the Lafayette City Council when LCG was formed. She became clerk to the LCG council in 2001. Dugas has served under four separate administrations, both for the city of Lafayette and LCG. She began work under the Lafayette city administration of Mayor Dud Lastrapes, then served under Mayor Kenny Bowen before LCG was formed. Since the new government was put in place, she has served under city-parish presidents Walter Comeaux and Joey Durel.
On April 30, the council will lose another veteran hand behind the scenes. Anne Patin, the LCG council senior administrative assistant, will also retire. Patin began work with the Lafayette Parish Government in 1979. She became senior administrative assistant for the LCG council in 2001.
The council will also vote whether to annex Phase II of the Tolson Oaks subdivision.The 18-acre tract abuts Phase 1 of Tolson Oaks off Tolson Road, but north of the Sarah Dee subdivision.
