LAFAYETTE - Lafayette Consolidated Government has been named a recipient of the "Real Solutions" award by Hyland Software.
In late 2007, LCG began implementing OnBase interprise-wide document imaging software in an effort to open up more government documents for easy public viewing, to save money by eliminating redundant paper copies, and to provide more effective use of information-sharing internally.
With the implementation of OnBase, LCG has been able to give internal and external users (public citizens) the ability to view, via the LCG Website, Council-related documents such as agendas, resolutions, ordinances, memos, and other backup materials from its website in much greater detail than was previously available. Additionally, the entire process has been streamlined and has saved the Council staff many hours of labor-intensive work.
"This is part of an enterprise wide multi-year initiative being run by the IT and Administrative Service departments. To see recognition at this early stage is pretty exciting," said LCG CIO Keith Thibodeaux
Hyland honors its customers who use the ECM software solution in new ways to get notable results. "This year's winners show how the right technology can make a major difference during even the toughest of times," said Bill Priemer, CEO of Hyland Software.
"With this software, not only are we using technology for cost savings and efficiency, but we are also continuing our efforts to assist our citizenry in having instant access to information they need. We are honored that Hyland Software has recognized these efforts," said Lafayette City Parish President Joey Durel.
