Former Miss Church Point Claire Higginbotham says she's been living in fear of Brandon Lavergne for the last 13 years. She refused to get a restraining because she was scared of retaliation.
"I'm terrified now standing here shaking as we speak. I've it and I've seen pan out in the past. You never know what can happen," Higginbotham said.
Church Point police confirm Higginbotham claimed Laverge was stalking her in 1999. She says her first memories with Lavergne go as far back as grade school.
"In the fifth grade he took a handful of ants and shoved them in my mouth. Then he slammed my head into a brick wall," Higginbotham said.
She also said that she and her friends were threatened by Lavergne.
"There were gestures of threats. And he made it clear he would somehow get revenge," she said.
Lavergne even moved across the street from Higginbotham. This all happened before he served eight years for oral sexual battery.
"Why did he have to ruin so many lives throughout his life? He has tortured so many people. Not only the people involved in this case, but throughout his life. And if there is one thing I could tell him right now it would be he should rot in hell for everything he has done. To not only me, but the poor Pate's woman that was found and also Mickey Shunick and her family," Higginbotham said.
