After roll call, one last moment with those who mean the most.
Wives had a chance for one final embrace with her husbands.
One final kiss from a child thier dad.
Words of encouragement from proud fathers to a sons fighting back tears.
Deep inside, both fighting off thoughts of what could happen.
"You know if they have to they're gonna die and as a parent it's not something you want to see or hear about but i'm mighty proud of him," says Ellis Daigle.
For the next year, this day will serve as a constant reminder.
Motivation for the ultimate goal.
Their slogan, "citizen/soldier", each one so much more than troops on the front lines.
