Large Fire Burning in Lafayette

Advanced Parts and Systems in Scott caught fire this afternoon and the flames spread quickly across the roof of the complex where the business is located. In all, 8 structures were affected; wrecking vehicles were on scene at the time of this posting.
No one was inside the complex when the fire broke out, but viewers from as far away as Youngsville were calling into the newsroom asking what the situation was, as massive black smoke clouds were rising up into the air.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but the damage is severe, and for a time there was concern about propane tanks in the warehouses.
