United States Senator Mary Landrieu is pushing Congress to build 38 new veteran's clinics across the nation. In a letter sent to both the House and Senate, the Louisiana Democrat is blaming the Congressional Budget Office for the hold-up, claiming its estimate process is delaying the construction. According to Landrieu's office, 66 Senators, both Republican and Democrat, have signed on to her letter.
Landrieu and Rep. Charles Boustany (R-Lafayette) introduced legislation earlier this year to keep VA clinics in Lafayette and Lake Charles open.
