Landmark New Orleans restaurant closed, future uncertain

Brennan's, a French Quarter dining landmark, has unexpectedly closed and its future is uncertain - the latest development in a longtime family feud. Owen "Pip" Brennan, a son of the founder and until recently a manager of the restaurant, is involved in complex state and federal legal battles with his brother and restaurant co-owner Ted and Ted's daughter Bridgette over control of the business. Amid the family management squabbles, Brennan's was heavily in debt and was sold in foreclosure this year to a corporation called Leggo/4. In federal court papers, Owen Brennan alleges that another family member, Ralph Brennan, is a principal in Leggo/4, and that Ted and Bridgette worked to assure the foreclosure would go through. An attorney for Ted and Bridgette, denied that Friday.
