ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) - A West Feliciana Parish Police Jury special committee plans to meet Tuesday to discuss transferring land to the parish hospital board as a site for a proposed new hospital.

The Advocate reports the hospital's board of commissioners wants the jury to transfer about 14 acres of land in St. Francisville that is now used as a baseball field.

Hospital Board Chairman Leonard Sullivan told jurors last week the hospital board needs a quick decision on the land transfer to complete preliminary design and financing studies for the new hospital.

The hospital representative suggested three ways the jury-owned land could be transferred: Through a simple intergovernmental transfer; by the hospital putting up $200,000 to build new ball fields or by the hospital purchasing the property outright.
