BENTON, La. (AP) - Businessman William "Buddy" Lucky says he feels south Bossier has been forgotten when it comes to kid-friendly sports parks. He says that's why he gave 20 acres to the parish for a park, and agreed to sell it another 40 acres.
Parish Attorney Patrick Jackson tells The Times that the parish hopes to swap surplus property for the 40 acres. Lucky says he's comfortable with the idea of a swap.
Parish engineer Butch Ford says a master plan for the park includes multiple soccer and softball fields, a walking trail, picnic area, a playground and parking. He says a spray park is possible.
Ford and police juror Mac Plummer think the first part of the project could come together this spring.
