Lake Charles woman convicted in shooting death

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A Calcasieu Parish jury has convicted a 40-year-old Lake Charles woman in the shooting death of her boyfriend.
Jurors deliberated less than an hour Thursday before finding Renee Tyler guilty in the second-degree murder of 34-year-old Elliot T. Thomas.
The American Press reports that state District Judge Robert Wyatt will impose the mandatory life sentence on Feb. 16.
