LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A single-vehicle crash at a Lake Charles intersection killed a 33-year-old man.
KPLC-TV identifies the victim in Tuesday night's crash as Clifton Harmon Jr. of Lake Charles.
Deputy Police Chief Mark Kraus said Harmon was believed to have been driving at high speed when he lost control, struck a curb and hit a tree. Kraus said a witness reported seeing Harmon run a traffic light before the accident.
Kraus said a toxicology report was pending. He also said that prior to the fatal crash, Harmon's vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run incident with another vehicle in Lake Charles.
