Lake Charles man accused of home invasion and false imprisonment

A Lake Charles man is behind bars and accused of home invasion and false imprisonment.

On August 23, at 9:00 pm, the Lake Charles Police Department received a call in the 2000 block of Susan Street in reference to home invasion and aggravated battery with shots fired.

Upon Officers arrival they learned that the suspect, Joshua Plumber, had allegedly fled the scene on foot and entered a residence in the 2000 block of Denise Street where he is accused of holding 3 adults and 3 children hostage.

Lake Charles Police Department SWAT Team and Negotiators responded to the scene. According to police, at approximately 2 am the hostages were allowed to leave the residence unharmed.

Joshua Jermaine Plumber, 25, of Lake Charles, is being charged with:

Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery, Illegal Use of Dangerous Instrumentalities, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon and 6 counts of False Imprisonment.

The Investigation is still ongoing
