LAKE CHARLES - A 20-year-old Lake Charles man has been arrested for beating his ex-girlfriend and robbing her.
Authorities say on April 2, at 6:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home in Lake Charles in reference to an alleged domestic battery.
Upon arrival, deputies were advised Steven W. Sturlese, ex-boyfriend of the victim, entered the victim's home and allegedly demanded money. Deputies say the victim refused and Sturlese grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the bedroom. According to authorities, Sturlese began striking her causing her head to go through a wall and put a knife to her throat.
Sturlese allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled in the victim's vehicle before deputies arrived.
Sturlese returned to the victim's residence one hour later and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated battery; armed robbery; aggravated assault; simple criminal damage to property; and 2 counts of domestic abuse battery.
Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $25,000. CPSO Deputy Wesley Jones was the arresting deputy in this case.
