Lake Charles man accused of 4th offense DWI

On December 26, at 1:15 a.m., CPSO deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Elliott Road and N. Flounder Drive in Lake Charles say police.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the car appeared to have run off the road and into the ditch. When the deputy approached the car and detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver's breath. According to the deputy, Brandon T. Ferstl appeared very unsteady on his feet.

Ferstl performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, he was arrested and transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, where a breath intoxilyzer test revealed he was over the legal limit say police.

Ferstl was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th; and careless operation of a vehicle. Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $402,500.
