Hannah Pauley was a typical teenager. By all accounts, she was athletic, popular and always had a smile on her face. Looking now at the collages of photographs that were on display at his daughter's wake, Len Pauley now realizes her smile was masking the torment.
"She was bullied," he said.
An investigation is still underway by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department, though so far no charges have been filed. Pauley says deputies seized his daughter's cell-phone and computer.
"Honestly I don't believe I would want any child to be charged with anything," said Pauley. "If those kids can just step up to the plate and admit that they were wrong, make a positive out of this--then absolutely not--because they have to live with this for the rest of their lives now."
KATC will have more on Hannah's story in the coming days, including how Len Pauley hopes to bring some good out of his daughter's death.
