Lake Charles burglary arrest

On May 5, 2013 at 4:49 p.m., Officer T. Gaston and Corporal D. Bray were dispatched to the 2700 block of 1st Avenue in reference to two black males at the residence attempting to break into an enclosed trailer. The subjects were allegedly recovering stolen property. Prior to Officers arrival, an argument ensued between a third party and the two suspects that left the scene prior to Officers arrival.

Both suspects were later brought back to the scene by Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office Deputies after being contacted by the two suspects. A voluntary search of the trailer revealed no stolen property inside and the two suspects were arrested, booked, and confined. Detective J. Atkinson is handling the follow-up investigation of this incident.

Arrested:

Russell Lynn Joubert, 43 year-old black male, 431 Reid Street, Lake Charles, LA.
Charge: Attempted simple burglary of a vehicle, bond $7,000.00

Curtis Tyrone Chenier, 34 year-old black male, 1608 8th Avenue, Lake Charles, LA.
Charge: Attempted simple burglary of a vehicle, bond $5,000.00
