MATHEWS, La. (AP) - Lafourche Parish is partnering with Arabie Trucking of Thibodaux to bring aid to the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Two trucks, filled with donations, will travel to the east coast to help residents there recover from the storm. Officials expect the donations to reach them by Thanksgiving.

The parish and trucking company are seeking donations of canned goods, paper goods, baby food, diapers, cleaning supplies, water, batteries, blankets, and pet supplies. Donations will be collected until Nov. 16. Drop off points include Arabie Trucking, the information booth at the Thibodaux Main Street "Big Boy Cook-Off" & Thibodeauxville Fall Festival, and government complexes in Mathews and Galliano.

Sandy Arabie said Thursday that Louisiana knows what the East Coast is going through and she's honored to be part of the disaster relief project.
