THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - The North Lafourche Levee District has launched a new website at www.northlafourchelevee.com.
The Daily Comet reports residents can now watch live Internet streaming of the district's board and committee meetings, sign up for an email newsletter and access meeting agendas and lists of projects. The district has also launched a Facebook page.
Executive Director Dwayne Bourgeois says the new communication resources will help residents stay up to date on flood protection projects and issues such as coastal restoration and flood insurance.
The district provides drainage and flood protection for areas of Lafourche Parish north of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
