Lafayette Parish teachers could receive a survey in the coming weeks, asking them about their experiences with student discipline problems.
The Advertiser reports school board member Greg Awbrey created the one-page, seven-question survey. The board is expected to vote May 15 on whether to distribute it to teachers.
The survey asks teachers to indicate how many students are habitually disruptive in their classrooms, whether they feel they have the support of school administrators on discipline matters and whether teachers feel safe in school and have control over their classrooms.
But Superintendent Pat Cooper questioned the merits of the survey saying he's worried that the survey was not created by an unbiased agency or entity. Cooper says the results were being returned to Awbrey only.
