A suspicious device found in the Albertson's parking lot on Ambassador Caffrey in Lafayette has been been rendered safe Wednesday night. Lafayette Haz Mat crews say it was remains of a mobile meth lab.

The entire grocery store was evacuated and a large portion of the parking lot was closed off. State Troopers investigated the bag and ruled it safe. They then turned over the case and contents to Lafayette Metro Narcotics and Haz Mat crews.

Albertson's was reopened around 9:00 p.m., but crews were still on the scene for at least another hour cleaning up the parking lot. No information has been released yet on who the left the meth lab materials in the parking lot
