Lafayette police have arrested a suspect in a Thursday shooting. Investigators say around 10:30 A. M., 25-year-old Fenton J. Carter pulled up in front of a home in the 400 block of Edison Street and began shouting at the victim. They say Carter then pulled a gun and fired shots at the victim before driving away. The victim was not injured. Carter was arrested without incident 11 hours later.

Carter is charged with attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The case remains under investigation.
