LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - The Lafayette Parish School System is working to get a new online system for parents running by next month. Previously, the Lafayette system used Infinite Campus software, which allowed parents to see their children's assignments, test scores and upcoming school events. But the district has switched to JPAMS, another software system that is used in several other school districts. Superintendent Pat Cooper tells The Advertiser the problems that have caused delays are being resolved. He said there were problems getting the software to match what the school system already had. Schools are now sending demographic information sheets to students. Parents must complete those forms, in which parents agree to have their children's information in the system. Those forms must be completed and returned before site access is granted.
