The Lafayette Public Library Foundation will hold its annual awards luncheon and meeting at the City Club at River Ranch on April 11. This year's theme is Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.), in line with the national month-long celebration of reading in April. The guest speaker will be Cheré Coen, author of Haunted Lafayette. A book signing and silent auction will also take place. In addition, Dr. Mary B. Neiheisel will be honored with the President's Award and Event Rental with the Major Donor Award.
The Lafayette Public Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 that exists to receive private funds and donations for materials and services not otherwise available for the Lafayette Public Library System.
Luncheon cost is $30. Reservations will be accepted through Friday, April 5, and can be made by calling (337) 261-5781, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or mailing a check to Lafayette Public Library Foundation, P.O. Box 53024, Lafayette, LA 70505.
