LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette police are following up on
numerous tips and leads in the hopes of finding whoever is
responsible for beating two young men last week.
Twenty-year-old Kenneth Donnelly Jr., a Louisiana-Lafayette freshman, was found beaten to death in his home on Thursday. A roommate had also been attacked and remains in a local hospital in critical condition.
Police are not releasing the name of the surviving victim because the case is an ongoing investigation and no suspects have been arrested or charged.
Cpl. Paul Mouton tells The Advertiser that detectives have yet to establish a definite motive, and it remains unclear whether the victims knew who attacked them.
