Lafayette Police Search for Congress Cleaners Suspect

On September 26, 2009, at approximately 11:40 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to Congress Cleaner, located at 3922 W. Congress Street, regarding an armed robbery. According to employees, the suspect entered the business and produced a large knife. The suspect was able to get an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the store. The clerks were not injured during the incident.

Surveillance video shows that the suspect was a thin build black male, 5'6" to 5'8", wearing a hat, camouflage clothing and a bandana over his face. The suspect was captured on video fleeing the scene in a four door turquoise blue vehicle, possibly a Pontiac Grand Prix.
