Lafayette police are looking for two suspects who held up a Chase bank in Lafayette. It happened 10:15 a.m. this morning on the corner of Moss Street and Buick Street. There are no injuries and it's unclear if the suspects had weapons.
"There were customers as well as employees inside the bank at the time of the incident," PIO Cpl. Paul Mouton said.
Lafayette police said that the robbers walked through this front entrance and demanded money.
"Once inside the bank they demanded everyone get down and they approached the clerk and demanded the cash verbally," Mouton said.
The suspects are two black males who were wearing black masks. Police said the robbers drove off in a small green car.
According to Lafayette Crime View over 10 percent of all the business burglaries and robberies in the last 90 days have happened in a 1 mile radius of this bank robbery. Overall though, the city of Lafayette has not seen an increase in robberies and burglaries.
The Lafayette police do not believe this robbery is in connection with others at this time.
