Detectives Attempt to Identify Suspects in Shooting
On February 6, 2010, at approximately 3:10 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 2000 block of the NW Evangeline Thruway regarding a shooting. The victim, a 19 year old female of Lafayette, was riding in the rear of a vehicle when the suspects drove along side in a green Buick, traveling southbound on the NW Evangeline Thruway. The suspect(s) shot approximately 9 times into the vehicle, striking the victim in the leg. The suspects fled the area and the victim was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released. The suspects are described as three black males, one with a Mohawk and two with dread locks. The suspects were possibly wearing black t-shirts with the logo "G M T".
Below are photos of persons of interest in the shooting. Anyone with information as to the identity of the any of the subjects in the photos is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
