Lafayette pedestrian In critical condition

On November 6, 2009, at approximately 11:00 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the intersection of Mudd Avenue and the NE Evangeline Thruway regarding a crash involving a pedestrian. According to witnesses, the pedestrian, a 70 year old male of Lafayette, for unknown reasons stepped into the travel lanes of the NE Evangeline Thruway and was struck by a silver Pontiac. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition. The operator of the vehicle was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
