Lafayette Parish School Employee Is Accused Of Embezzling

A Lafayette Parish School employee is accused tonight of embezzling more than $50,000 dollars.

59 year old Carol Thomas was charged with theft, injuring public records, public payroll fraud, obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office.

Thomas supervised the extended learning program for the school board.

Police analyzed records from January of 2007 to November 2009.

Thomas has since bonded out of jail.
